The Kennedy family has been a prominent family in the United States for what feels like centuries, marked by wealth, tradition, political influence and even the alleged “Kennedy curse.” More than 60 years after the assasination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, his family has remained in headlines, demonstrating how the Kennedy’s remain relevant regardless of the era.

Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette” is the latest  project of American director Ryan Murphy. Murphy is best known for directing series such as “Glee” and the “American Crime Story” series. The short series depicts the tumultuous relationship between Kennedy and Bessette. “It is the first installment in Ryan Murphy’s Love Story anthology and is inspired by Elizabeth Beller’s book Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.” Kennedy and Bessette tragically passed away in 1999 in a plane crash, at the ages of 33 and 38, respectively. Murphy’s new series has once again pushed the Kennedy family into global conservation around the world. Fashion publications such as Vogue and Elle have even recently written articles about Bessette-Kennedy’s fashion and her most iconic outfit choices.

Jack Schlossberg is the grandson of John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. His mother, Caroline Kennedy, is the sister of John F. Kennedy Jr.. Although Schlossberg has been in the public eye for most of his life, he gained a large following in 2024, after it was announced that he would serve as a political correspondent for Vogue Magazine, primarily covering the presidential election. Even after the 2024 presidential election, he remained highly active on social media, particularly on his Instagram account, @JackUno

In November 2025, Schlossberg announced that he would run for public office. He is currently campaigning for Congress in New York’s 12th District, as a Democrat. According to the “Jack for New York” campaign website, his “12 Promises to the People of New York’s 12th District” include “Service,” “Courage,” “Strength,” “Accountability,” “Optimism,” “Independence,” “Focus,” “Pragmatism,” “Unity,” “Patriotism,” “Creativity,” and “Positivity.”

Amid the announcement of his campaign , Schlossberg also faced personal loss. His sister Tatiana Schlossberg, passed away in December 2025, after a battle with cancer. She publicly discussed her illness in “The New Yorker” magazine, in an article titled “A Battle With My Blood,” published just one month before her death. In a recent interview on CBS Sunday Morning, Schlossberg reflected on his sister’s encouragement, recalling: “The last thing that she said to me was, ‘You better win.’”

He has also been outspoken about his and his immediate family’s desire to distance themselves from his mother’s cousin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who currently serves as the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. When President Donald Trump first announced Kennedy’s nomination for the position, Caroline Kennedy addressed the U.S. Senate, stating “It’s no surprise that he keeps birds of prey as pets because he himself is a predator.”

Additionally, in Schlossberg’s interview with CBS, when discussing the marketing for his campaigns, he discussed how RFK Jr. has utilized JFK’s same marketing from the 1960s. “He used the JFK 1960 Kennedy jingle and ad in a Super Bowl commercial,” Schlossberg said. And he’s been doing this kind of hijacking the Kennedy legacy and slapping it on top of Trump wherever Trump wants to put it in a way that is really emblematic of what Trump is doing across the board.”

Meanwhile, Netflix recently announced that Sam Shaw will be the executive-producer of a new series titled “Kennedy.” The show is based on the book JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century, 1917–1956 by Frederik Logevall. According to Shaw, “The story of the Kennedys is the closest we have to American mythology—somewhere between Shakespeare and The Bold and the Beautiful.”

While the Kennedy name continues to attract scrutiny and public fascination, Schlossberg has made it clear that he believes the family should not be placed under constant public examination. When asked about his opinion about “Love Story,” a fictional recount of his late uncle and aunt, he stated, “If you want to know someone who’s never met anyone in my family, knows nothing about us, talk to Ryan Murphy,” Schlossberg said when asked about the show. “The guy knows nothing about what he’s talking about, and he’s making a ton of money on a grotesque display of someone else’s life.”
